Medicare

Free or low-cost health care for Australians.

Who can get it

Most people who live in Australia can get Medicare. You need to enrol and get a Medicare card.

How to apply

  1. Go to a Services Australia office near you
  2. Bring your ID (passport, birth certificate, or other proof)
  3. Fill in the Medicare enrolment form
  4. You will get a Medicare card in the mail
